About the Opportunity

SHL is looking for an AI enthusiast with strong research and development capabilities to join its AI team as a Research Intern – AI.

This internship provides hands-on experience in:

• Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Audio & Speech Processing
• Computer Vision
• Generative AI
• Large Language Models (LLMs)

Interns will collaborate on cutting-edge AI/ML challenges and contribute to real-world AI product development. High-performing interns may receive an opportunity for conversion into a full-time Research Engineer – AI role.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Machine Learning Development

• Work on advanced AI/ML models using deep learning techniques
• Develop solutions in:
  • NLP
  • Speech Processing
  • Computer Vision

Generative AI Research

• Prototype and experiment with:
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Multimodal AI systems

Model Optimization & Deployment

• Assist in optimizing AI/ML models for production use
• Collaborate on scalable ML integration into real-world applications

AI Infrastructure & Monitoring

• Implement orchestration frameworks
• Build performance monitoring systems for AI applications

Data & Research Contributions

• Support data collection, annotation, and validation
• Contribute to research papers, technical documentation, and AI innovation initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

Availability

• Must be available full-time for the next 3–6 months

Programming Skills

• Strong coding skills in:

AI/ML Knowledge

• Experience with AI/ML projects through:

Frameworks

Familiarity with:
